Keyes Touche ignites 'Blaze'

LONDON -- Former Disney exec Alicia Keyes Touche is producing her first feature pic, "Blaze You Out," which has begun lensing in New Mexico. Pic, which is co-written and directed by Mateo Frazier and Diego Joaquin Lopez, toplines breakout talents Veronica Diaz-Carranza ("Mamitas," "Taco Shop"), Melissa Cordero ("Language of a Broken Heart"), Elizabeth Pena ("Jacob's Ladder") and Jeremy Ray Valdez ("Constantine"). Raoul Trujillo, Mark Adair Rios and Q'orianka Kilcher also star. Pic tells the story of Lupe, an aspiring DJ, and her sister, who are struggling to make a living in the Esperanza Valley, a community that has been suffocated by generations of heroin use. Ever since the death of their parents, Lupe has looked after her rebellious sister, but when she suddenly disappears, Lupe is forced into the town's dark underworld. Pic, produced by New Mexico shingle Sandia Productions, is using the state's tax credit to raise 25% of the pic's budget.
